Ron Dennis has provided more details about the upcoming McLaren sports car.
In announcing his departure from McLaren Racing, McLaren chairman Dennis said the new range of cars will build on the reputation of the McLaren F1 and the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. Production of the SLR will cease at the end of 2009.The new range of McLaren sports cars have been in development for more than two years. The first model in the range will be launched in 2011.
As part of this plan, McLaren Automotive, currently one of the companies within the McLaren Group, will become an independent company later in 2009.
